Support fosters. Save Lives.

Support Fosters. Save Lives.
The Pet Pack Rescue Initiative (PPRI) was founded in 2022 by a couple teachers with decades of experience fostering dogs for different rescues in the Peoria, Illinois area. It was initially a resource group for dog fosters from various local rescues and animal controls and encourages collaboration and cooperation between all stakeholders in animal welfare. PPRI has a supportive executive board consisting of individuals with a wealth of knowledge in both animal welfare and non-profit experience.

Our Initiatives

Rescue & Fostering
PPRI’s motto is to support fosters to save lives. That means that we strive to educate Fosters on how to be better at the craft of fostering. We provide educational literature, a foster resource page, socialization opportunities, and guidance from experienced fosters on all types of pet issues.

Adoption
Dogs in our care live in a foster home with humans that are able to gain insight into their foster's needs prior to placing them into their adoptive home. All of the dogs in our care are fully vetted, microchipped, and fixed. They are also cleared by a veterinarian before being placed for adoption. Our foster homes have final say on placement but have guidance and resources with our vet staff and other members of our foster home team.
Our Adoption Process:
Application -> Vet/LL Checks -> Meet & Greet -> Home Check -> Finalize Adoption
Complete a no-obligation APPLICATION in order to meet a dog(s)

Advocacy
PPRI advocates for responsible pet ownership. We support spay/neuter of dogs and cats. We feel responsible pet ownership means: yearly wellchecks, consistent vetting, heartworm prevention for dogs, and medical care when needed. Microchipping of dogs and cats is an essential tool to keep dogs and cats safe. While we advocate for adopting dogs and cats, we do understand that ethical breeders are a viable option for some families. We do not condone unethical breeding from puppy mills or backyard breeders.
Fundraise
A necessary part of animal rescue is raising funds. We support our fosters and exist based on donations, grant money, and various fundraisers. If you would like to partner with PPRI to generate funds to support rescue animals please email us: petpackrescueinitiative@gmail.com

Collaborate
PPRI is proud to collaborate with multiple animal control agencies, shelters, and community stakeholders. We believe that a large network of animal lovers can make a positive impact in animal welfare. If you would like to partner with PPRI: petpackrescueinitiative@gmail.com
