Weekly Paws (May 4th, 2025)

We are moving! It’s official! On May 16, we will have a new location in North Peoria off University. This location offers many advantages for our board members and fosters, as it is just five minutes off of 474. The space is more than double the size of our current facility, allowing us to continue to grow.

The last couple of months have seen tremendous growth, with record-breaking numbers of dogs brought in—over 110 dogs!

There have been many new faces joining the pack. Some members of the team will foster one dog and decide to move on, which is expected, and we wish them nothing but the best as they seek new adventures. We’re glad that some of you will stay around indefinitely!

We introduced a new means of communication! The Barking Brigade is a chat group specifically for those fostering dogs under four months old. It will be a revolving door of participants; if you do not currently have a dog under four months, you will be temporarily removed from the group. If you get a foster under four months old, you will be added back. This chat will be a great place to discuss all things puppy-related.

Please ensure you are utilizing your group chats. If you need something individually, reach out to either myself or Kassie via text or PM so we can address your needs as quickly as possible.

A gentle reminder that every board member has a job, and sometimes our duties can be high-stress. There may be times when we are unavailable because we are dealing with responsibilities related to our paid jobs, which allow us to engage in rescue work.

Quite the opposite of imploding, we are growing in many ways. We have several new fundraisers on the horizon, and we've committed to a five-year lease on our new building. Fundraising is going well when we have specific needs. We will always be fundraising because there is always a need.

We are here to support you, but if you need something specific, please reach out and tell us—we cannot read your mind! Don’t wait until something is critical before contacting us.
